Cheryl Cole the top of the UK charts

Cheryl Cole (born Cheryl Ann Tweedy on 30 June 1983 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England) is an English singer-songwriter, dancer, model and celebrity. Cole rose to fame when she was selected to become a member of girlgroup Girls Aloud on ITV's reality television programme Popstars The Rivals in late 2002.[2] The girl group have marked their success by achieving a string of 20 consecutive top ten singles (including four number ones) in the UK; five studio albums which have all been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), two of which went to number one in the UK; and accumulating a total of five BRIT Award nominations from 2005 to 2010. Since Girls Aloud have pursued separate careers, she has expanded her repertoire in pop music as a solo artist: releasing two consecutive number one albums in the UK: 3 Words and Messy Little Raindrops; scoring two number one singles in the UK ("Fight for This Love" and "Promise This") and a Brit nomination.
Cole's venture into television has been highlighed when she became a judge on the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2008. She has been namd "the nation's new sweetheart"[3][4][5] for her contributions to the show. She currently prevails as the reigning judge for two consectutive years: in her debut year with Alexandra Burke and in 2009 with Joe McElderry.
Cole has found continued success as a nationally recognised and photographed style icon.[6][7][8] She has been revered as a fashionista[9] who has graced the covers of British Vogue,[8] Elle[10] and Harper's Bazaar as well as becoming the new face of cosmetic company L'Oréal.[11]
Cole was the wife of English footballer Ashley Cole, to whom she was married in July 2006,[12] yet later filed for divorce from in May 2010.[13][14] A decree nisi was granted in September 2010.(From Wikipedia)
